Apple Developer News Archive
This folder contains the archives (in HTML format) of Apple Computer's weekly newsletter to developers, Apple Developer News. The navigation links and graphics at the top and bottom of each page do not work, but the body of each page (and relevant links to the Internet) are complete. This folder is a mirror image of the ADN content on Apple's web site and is included for those developers who do not have web access.
Apple Location Manager
Apple Location Manager (ALM) allows users to switch groups of system settings in one step, making it easy for them to reconfigure their computer when they change location (for example, from office to home or between locations in different time zones). This SDK contains a complete Location Manager Module with source code, as well as documentation on other ways that you can integrate ALM support into your products.
Developer Notes
This folder contains a collection of Developer Notes. New this month is the "Power Macintosh G3 Developer Note," which describes the hardware architecture of the new Apple Power Macintosh G3 family of computers. This Developer Note defines the changes in the logic board design that developers need to be aware of to design compatible memory and I/O expansion modules. It also lists all the features and capabilities of the possible G3 hardware configurations and briefly describes the design of the new Power Macintosh G3 modular desktop and tower enclosures.

This folder contains HTML pages for viewing extensive documentation of WebObjects (including WebObjects 3.5).
Gestalt Selectors List 4.0.3
This document lists all selectors known to the creator of the Gestalt Selectors List for use with the Gestalt Manager. These can include selector codes installed by Apple system software or by your software. The information in this list is useful for programmers who use the Gestalt Manager with their software (even using externals, as with HyperCard, 4th Dimension, and so on).

Installer SDK Cornucopia 1.1.1
The Installer SDK provides the latest Installer tools and related utilities, as well as pre-release versions of forthcoming tools. In addition to the materials found on the previous Installer SDKs, this release includes the following: the final version of Upgrader 1.1.1 (the assistant-like application used to install Mac OS 8.1) and a pre-release version of a new visual Installer script creation tool named Cappella!
Interactive Media Resources
The Apple Media Program Survival Guides are short technical guides on specific topics designed to explain different aspects of interactive media authoring. These documents focus on the 'how' of completing a task rather than the ‘why.’ They are in Adobe Acrobat format (.pdf files).
This month features the gender-based "Title Creation Survival Guide," which helps you understand the nuances of developing titles designed specifically for girls.
Macintosh Runtime for Java 2.0
Mac OS Runtime for Java (MRJ) 2.0 is a software package that includes Apple’s implementation of the Java Virtual Machine (VM) and related libraries. It is based on software created by the JavaSoft business unit of Sun Microsystems, Inc. and implements version 1.1.3 of Sun’s Java specification. With MRJ installed, you can run Java applets within the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser or the Apple Applet Runner.
Rhapsody Documentation
This is the complete collection of books that describe the Apple operating system code-named Rhapsody. Included is a new version of "Discovering OPENSTEP: A Developer Tutorial." This preliminary version of the introductory book on OpenStep programming includes new material, corrections of all reported bugs, and screen shots of the Rhapsody development environment. * OF Tokenizer: New FCode tokenizer for PCI board FCode driver development.
* OT PAPServer: A PAP Server sample using the Open Transport API. The PAP server spools incoming PAP data to files on the server system. The sample supports multiple connections at the same time. The server also supports LaserWriter client PostScript queries.
* MyHelpMenu: Sample code to demonstrate how to append your own help menu items under the help menu. As an aside, also shows how to implement hierarchical sub-menus.
